Heartfelt Thanks

Heatfelt thanks for your grateful response to our Gianellian Family and particularly to me. Our Chapter has a before, during, and now is the after, characterized by what was established. I hope we can count on your cooperation for all that we are going to accomplish.
Because we do not have immediate answers to our problems, we will try to draw some itineraries, even though they will be challenges.
We will like to propose a service that will help to build a world with more justice, an expression of the Kingdom of peace, justice and love.
The past is not the most important, but the future is. “Now is the time,” as the document Aparecida says.
We will like to continue our journey with old and new motivations… Missionary disciples, with a new fire that advances for building, inspired and sustained by our Mother, Our Lady of the Garden and St. Anthony Gianelli, the Gianellian Family in the Church, Sharing Charism and Mission!
Very warm regards, always united in the Trinity, origin, reason and goal of our life.

Sr. Terezinha Maria Petry

The Official Closing of the General Chapter

Feb. 28th, 2009
We thank the Lord with all our heart for having guided us during this 18th General Chapter which was officially closed this morning with our Mother General’s message, Sr. Terezinha Maria Petry.
During the closing Mass celebrated by his excellence Monsignor Mandara, we heard again the familiar words of our Founder: “Evangelical, vigilant charity”, and “go where others cannot go.”
We are confident that Lord will help all our Institute to carry on the what is in the booklet of the Acts given by Mother General to all the Provincials, Delegation and Zone

There is mail for you... Friends who have written to us!

We are the Sisters delegates to 18th General Chapter of the Daughters of Our Lady of the Garden, and want to thank all of you for having been very close to us and our work with your very warm messages that gave vigor to our research and decisions.

To take a look at all that is our own, and at our future is a difficult task. We have to look with”our heart’s eyes” and we need God’s grace. So your prayer and closeness have been so precious!

In this Chapter we have written a new page in our history of women of God.

We have rediscovered the original founding inspiration St. Anthony Gianelli had, and found out that the Charism God gave him is a gift to the Church; it continues to grow and it forms the great “Gianellian Family.”

We, the Daughters of Our Lady of the Garden, are the first to receive this gift, and we invite you to share it as your spiritual guide. The Charism of St. A. Gianelli and ours is still alive and continues to expand in the Christian life; it creates bonds of communion as well as profound friendships. This is what emerged in our 18th General Chapter, and that has brought us closer to you.

We end our General Chapter with this very ardent prayer: May Our Lady of the Garden help us to build new lifestyles in search of what is beautiful, true and good, in communion with you, great Gianellian Family.

New Mother General…

Today, after the Mass of the Holy Spirit we went to the Assembly hall to elect our new Mother General . We prepared for this event with nocturnal Adoration when all the Sisters took turns to pray.

We are glad to announce that the new elected is Mother Terezinha Maria Petry whom we know and love very much. We support her and pray for her and for all our Institute.

A Bible, an icon of the Blessed Mother and a bouquet of 12 roses.
One Sister, on behalf of all the Institute, thanks Mother with these words, “Thanks, Mother for the 12 years of your life donated without reservations. Thanks for 12 years of prayerful, austere, untiring service, of generous self-giving, of genuine listening, and of trying to create communion in the Congregation.”
